Fellow Peelites
Well, it's been an exhausting but revelatory week trying to keep up with
all Jim's material, and many thanks to him. I've been hiving away some
things while this has all been going on, so here are the results of my
endeavours (even though keen Wiki watchers will have already snaffled
all this).
1) 2011 Festive Fifty <http://peel.wikia.com/wiki/2011_Festive_Fifty>
An original recording by me for a change: many thanks to all the crew at
Dandelion for another engrossing chart. In two parts this time, since
there was a short break in the stream between numbers 17 and 16 (thanks
a lot, SK Broadband).
2) BH006 of the Hinton Box yielded excerpts of no less than four shows,
some of which is new to the catalogue:
08 January 1979 <http://peel.wikia.com/wiki/08_January_1979> / 24
January 1979 <http://peel.wikia.com/wiki/24_January_1979> / 25 January
1979 <http://peel.wikia.com/wiki/25_January_1979> / 21 May 1979
<http://peel.wikia.com/wiki/21_May_1979>
3) Colin's not just been fielding the Hinton Box: he's also been hard at
work ripping his own tapes.
26 September 1992 <http://peel.wikia.com/wiki/26_September_1992>
(Sessions: Dr Devious, Klezmatics)
This is the tape immediately before the one I shared aeons ago, so do we
now have a complete show?
06 August 1993 <http://peel.wikia.com/wiki/06_August_1993> (Sessions:
Madder Rose, Even As We Speak)
Isector's recording, although of higher quality, was only the first half
an hour or so: this one goes right up to 25 minutes before the end, and
all the session tracks are present. Some retuning and dropouts, but
wonderful to have.
4) Praise the Lord, Isector's back in the house!
13 May 1994 <http://peel.wikia.com/wiki/13_May_1994> (Sessions: Neuro
Project, Pure Morning)29 October 1994
<http://peel.wikia.com/wiki/29_October_1994> (Sessions: Doo Rag, Jale)
Both incomplete, but of the usual superb quality. Thanks to all the
tapers.
OK, off to work I go.
Best wishesSteve (TK)
