That's a coincidence - yesterday I heard "Cut Across Shorty" by Eddie Cochran (1960) on an old 'Uncut' free cd ! Great, weird song about a race to get a woman (I think); first heard Rod's version on Alan Freeman (or Peel) in 77-ish. Not as good as "Country Comforts" though - Rod's version is better than Elt's original ...
