I seem to remember that things came to a head around the time Hot Love was released - Marc stopped returning calls (I guess he was a busy man at that time!), and one day Peel turned up to a T.Rex gig which was sold out, and Marc had not put him on the guestlist (probably just forgot, rather than any personal slight against Peelie).
After all the airplay and friendship Peel had given Bolan over the previous three years he felt used and rejected, so he never played a T.Rex record again (actually he did I think when news of Marc's death came through in 1977) - and of course Marc's records were being played all over the daytime schedules, so Peel probably wouldn't have felt the need to play them anyway.
Cheers!

I heard JP say once he never understood why they fell out - I think they were really close for a while - sitting around talking elvish and then I saw JP giving Mr Bolan a real slagging in a documentary for starting to play pop songs, driving around in a Rolls Royce and acting like a popstar and I could see it from Marc's point of view ... probably two sides to every story!

Well, Bolan fell out with him because he didn't really like "Get It On"
& so didn't play it on the radio.
