Of course... checking Ken's first book always helps! Gasworks...3 BBC sessions plus an In Concert...failed by panel after recording audition session for Peel's Night Ride 22nd Jan 1969 (Another Peel session in Sep '73 though Alexis Korner was stand-in presenter for that one, and a Rock On session May '74)

I have to ask though, DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT GASWORKS?
You can imagine a google search brings up stuff about Gas manufacture, and that is about as useful as the google search for Man.
****Funny you should ask that Bill, because I played a Gasworks track on my Rose Coloured Glasses show last Thursday on Herne Bay local radio. Each week I plough through an old music paper from 1966 to 1976 and play tracks from artists featured within. Last week was Sounds from late Feb 1973 (Wishbone Ash's Andy Powell on the cover) and there's a half page ad for Gasworks' self titled album in there. Recorded live at the Marquee (on 29th July 1972) and produced by Tony Visconti. Released on Regal Zonophone. The ad quotes various reviews, one of which is from one D Bowie who apparently said "I was as knocked out when I heard Gasworks as I was when I heard Dylan on his first trip to Britain" at the Beckenham Arts Lab in 1969. Very strange as they sound like Mungo Jerry on a bad day to me...
Track titles include "Standing Stiff" and "Verbalise Your Pre-Orgiastic Tensions".
They were a duo:
John Brown--Gtr, bass, vox
Mick Draper--Violin, mandolin, harmonica
Thanks for posting all of the In Concerts!
Cheers
