San Francisco! Heard peel coz of the bands in session...i was a tape trader back then and was amazed by the great bands he would play sessions from...who of course wouldn't be getting any airplay on commercial stations whatsoever here in the u-s. I was lucky enough to have someone in the uk who would tape his shows for me occasionally and send them via post. it was amazing hearing how good radio COULD be. though i should add that here in sf we were lucky enough back then (early 80's) to have some college stations that were playing a lot of indie/local bands and the latest from the uk...

Who else here is American?
I'm from Chicago.
I ask because, beyond a tight group of middle aged music lovers, people don't know who Peel is/was in America.
My life with Peel is decidedly different that you lot who have listened to him/his shows since birth (or whenever. Regularly).
Your recordings are a special treat for me as I only heard his show live maybe 40 times since '84. 
And someday, when I've digitized them and learned how to upload, I'll share those tapes.
