Talking of the Festive 50 here's a quick reminder that you can now hear the 2012 Festive 50 on Dandelion Radio, as voted for by our listeners - It went out for the first time on Xmas day, and is now coming round roughly once a day in the stream.

Find out when you can hear it at http://www.dandelionradio.com/schedule - times are in GMT, so it's actually on now as I type this, and will be on tomorrow at 10am - 3pm. The show will continue to loop in amongst our normal January shows as well, until Jan 31st.

There's some ace tracks in there this year, and a pleasing variety of stuff. We're not posting the chart itself online yet, so as not to spoil it for those who've not listened yet, but all the details will go up on the website at the end of January.

Cheers!

Rocker

Tom,
Listened to the Christmas Special - great stuff! Also downloaded Tom's Olympic Salute for my future listening pleasure.

For some reason I assumed you were and ex-pat Brit, but apparently not so. When did you first discover our John?
Happy New Year
Alan
PS When I missed the Festive 50 one year, Tom was kind enough to send me the entire thing on CD.

I second the Merry Christmas-wishing motion, and urge its unanimous approval.
Here in the States it has been a rather bleak two weeks, but we are climbing out if it. (More of us than than you might think are saddened *and* embarrassed at the state of affairs here.)
I'm away from Atlanta this week, in northern Virginia with family, having a grand time. It was a tumultuous year for me. I worked at a video production facility and was laid off after 26 years this summer, and believe it or not it was a good thing. I've set up my own freelance film/video editing business and am already doing well. But it was so time-consuming I've not had a moment to log the 300+ Peel cassettes I promised to index so I can help fill missing slots in the archive.
That's my new years resolution.
I'll resume my weekly Tuesday 7pm Eastern US time radio show Jan 8 via 1690wmlb.com
In the meantime, here's the download link for my hour long Christmas special if you would like an hour of holiday warmth and strangeness. I mean come on, it's got Sonic Youth covering Martin Mull.

If you need an editor for your movie/documentary/video give me a ring, ha.
Cheers then, and Merry Whatever-You-Celebrate from across th' pond.
