Desert Island Discs

Downloaded quite a few episodes now.  I was sure that the first ones I downloaded were complete shows, but the latest batch are 'podcasts' - whereby, 'for rights reasons' the music is shortened, to no more than an intro for each selection.  What are these 'rights reasons'? - mostly the full tracks were not played on the programme anyway, certainly not any classical pieces.  Very frustrating!
