Dale Griffin wrote me a nice letter correcting me about something I'd written concerning Mott the Hoople's dress sense. It was a nice funny letter. His illness is very sad but it's great he was able to appear with Mott for part of their live shows. 

And by the way, thanks again for the amazing material and hard work in this group. I often wish I had some great lost Peel show on tape I could put up. Right now I'm playing the 1978 FF and enjoying the songs that at 17 I didn't think were punk so didn't tape...

Oh that's teriible news and horrendous conditon:-(  Dale, yes that's him, a nice fella indeed but I got the sense we were not his cup of tea.  Pleaseant enough though.  think there were to or maybe even 3 engineers on at the time so we were in safe hands.  Experimenting with digital recoridng at the time.  I asked to be dropped in at a point and they just laughted in my face:-)
