Michael Rooney says: "this sounds like an in concert type thing we did with stuart cruickshank for bbc radio scotland's beat patrol- i think him producing the show and david batchelor doing the mix if i remember", which sounds plausible to me. Just one point, I think the show at that time (86?) was still called ROCK ON SCOTLAND...
...tell you what, I'll try and check this with stuart as well...
