[peel] Yet more L tapes

Mr Lowman surely?

Yes it is a challenge, but the reason apparently was, to avoid wasting tape
at tape flips, he had a few tapes lined up ready to start on side a, then
when that tape was nearing its end, at a point between tracks, he jumped to
the next tape side a, rather than flip the first tape over, and rewind to
the start or waste more tape on side b.

Fair enough but then the tapes were received by the Mailing List in a random
order with only very approximate dates if at all on the tape. Rocker did the
tape numbering, loosely based on a per year basis.

At least my batch are mainly complete sections of shows, I know quite a few
in 1991 were mixtapes which were harder to date, and most confusing of all,
were some of the Best Of series, which were themselves re-recorded from show
tapes, but not necessarily in chronological order! And some of my own
mixtapes were absolute beasts to date, and I've not completed that task.

Is Mr Lowndes still of this parish? I am slightly puzzled as to how he
managed to make this all so random - it must have taken some doing to mix
all these dates and shows up but he seems to have met his match in Stuart!

Thanks

Mark

PS went to see Mr Kershaw last month in Folkestone - it was an entertaining
evening. Well worth catching - makes the book really come alive. Even though
he went at 100 mph he only made it as far as North Korea!

Next batch now uploaded to the Mooo.

Tape L180a has the last part of Andy Kershaw on 17th October 1992, followed
by the first 16 minutes of 17th October 1992
<http://peel.wikia.com/wiki/17_October_1992> a previously unshared show.
L180b had a further 41 minute section from later in the same show.

Tape L181a has a 46 minute section of 16th May 1992
<http://peel.wikia.com/wiki/16_May_1992> previously shared but this one
definitely sounds clearer. L181b had a 45 minute segment most of which was
not previously shared. This show is now nearly complete but seems to be
missing the final track.

Tape L182a was part of the Andy Kershaw Show of 9th May 1992. Tape L182b had
a 43 minute section of 9th <http://peel.wikia.com/wiki/09_May_1992> May
1992 though this show is already complete in better SQ.

Tape L183a had the final 18 minutes of 23rd May 1992
<http://peel.wikia.com/wiki/23_May_1992> not previously shared, then an 18
minute section of 29th May 1992 <http://peel.wikia.com/wiki/29_May_1992> ,
previously shared, perhaps this is slightly clearer. Tape 183b had a 41
minute section of 30th May 1992 <http://peel.wikia.com/wiki/30_May_1992>
previously shared but this is clearer.

Tape L184a had a segment of Andy Kershaw Show of 9th February 1992. Tape
L184b started with a 12 minute section of 9th February
<http://peel.wikia.com/wiki/09_February_1992> 1992 which not only is the
last 12 minutes of the show, but completes this show.

Tape L190a has a new 41 minute section of 28th August
<http://peel.wikia.com/wiki/28_August_1992> 1992 in which John expresses
that there were aspects of the 1991 F50 that he missed, and that there will,
after all, be a 1992 Festive 50. L190b has a new 38 minute section of 29th
August <http://peel.wikia.com/wiki/29_August_1992> 1992 .

Tape L194a has a 38 minute section of 7th March 1992
<http://peel.wikia.com/wiki/07_March_1992> from near the start of the show,
previously unshared. Tape L194b has a 47 minute section from later in the
show, the first track and a half not previously shared. This show now seems
complete apart from the very start of the show being missed.

Phew!

As before, locating one on the Mooo will lead you to the rest

Stuart
