The very splendid John Cooper Clarke did a couple of fine Peel sessions, still gigs regularly, and occasionally guests as a dj on 6Music. He's been more or less adopted as a mascot by Radcliffe & Maconie too. A national treasure, and one of the few men alive who's skinnier than Jarvis Cocker.

Cheers aye, Pete

obviously not forgetting John Cooper-Clarke,  Patrik Fitzgerald, Jilted John and Joolz. Haven't checked but don't recall any sessions by any of these but they brought humour and energy to many a jig.

Also Steven "Seething" Wells from Bradford, who also wrote pieces for the NME and who sadly died a few years ago in Philly ...

Attilla the Stockbroker (who remains true to the genre to this day), Porky the Poet (who transmuted into Phil Jupitus) and Craig Charles (who has never done anything half as good!). There was also one called something like Martin Besserman and I ended up in the background of an NME photo of him performing at Speakers Corner - I used to have a copy but its long gone ...
