Hi all.
Resuming my 400 box uploads, I'm now moving forward in time to Wednesday 19 December 1979. I've a couple of small extracts from September '79, but I'll come back to those at the end.
Unfortunately, the sound quality of this one has really taken a dive. It sounds like Medium Wave on a wet evening; reminds me of listening to Radio Luxembourg in the early Eighties, actually. It's a curious thing, as the sound quality of the 400 box recordings for December 1979 have generally been quite good. Indeed, the recording from the previous evening, recently ripped and shared by Stuart, was very good. So it's strange that this one is taped from a poor AM source. Maybe the taper didn't have access to his usual equipment. I dunno. Listen out for the attempt at a retuning 5 minutes in!
Either way, I've done a fair amount of work cleaning it up, removing lots of pops and clicks. Trust me, the sound quality does improve after the first 15 or 20 minutes. This show is also important for the historic first play of the Golinski Brothers' "Bloody".
Show date: 19 December 1979
Sessions: Comsat Angels (#1) + Echo & the Bunnymen (#1)

Next show up will be the following night's, which kicked off the Festive 50. Be warned though, the radio reception is just as bad.
