Who knows? Maybe the death knell sounded for 6 Music might be a bit
premature given the incredible pressure I see the BBC is under to keep the
station alive and well. I mean, my favorite musical artist is (please don't
ridicule me) Duran Duran and they've recently gone on board the Save BBC 6
Music campaign, so I'd say this is a sign the BBC should see that musicians
of all varieties of genres and popularities want to see this resource
preserved.

Anyway, back to this particular story. It's awesome that Tom Ravenscroft is
going to get his own 6 Music show and that we're seeing the birth of a new
John Peel, which would be most fitting as a sort of partiarchal "handing
down the legacy to the son" type thing. And I trust that he'll be offering
up a whole boatload of innovative new talent for the youth of today to be
clued into. It also tickles me a little knowing Tom's about my age as it's
a sign of my generation's newly appointed position of being trendsetters,
style-setters, and general role models for youth culture. Wow.

Go young Mr. Ravenscroft!,

Diane
