Peelers - dipping my toes into file sharing...

Ah yes, I'm looking at Peel Sessions p77 now and can see the reference, thanks for the update. My memory isn't what it was as I'm sure I would have picked that up when I read the book. However, I notice I've written Feb08 in the inside cover of my copy which means I read it when my son was 5 months old and me and my girlfriend were walking zombies at that time as the little so and so didn't sleep.

I think I had two accounts on the go which was causing the bouncing, sorted now I think.

Thanks again,

Mark

All I remember about it was that Peel said he found it on an old cassette in his studio at home and decided to give it another play, I've always assumed it's John Walters doing the singing and it dates from the 1970s.

Also made me laugh to hear Flossie put a record on at the wrong speed ("it's in the genes"), which made me go back and listen again to the Blur at Peel Acres show, which it comes from.

The file (should the link work) is about 26 mins in length and 35mb and contains what I used to call "Peelers", basically Peel's amusing comments and asides, together with extended bits of DJ chat with Andy Kershaw. They date from the time his and Andy's shows followed each other (late 1980's early 90's at a guess). I used to make compilations from the shows I recorded and would fill up the end bits of the tape with these snippets. Contains details of the legendary visit to see Simon bates in panto. No, really. Happy times...
