More great news that there are more complete shows out there.

I am happy to get ripping too, in between my own mixtape efforts.

Some degree of co-ordination might be required as there are a few
collections now getting ripped in this era (iSector, 500 Box, and I remember
another posting recently on the list about a collection).

To my ears the 500 Box and iSector shows sound better than many of the
existing 1990/1991 shows out there and if the rippers have enough stamina
after filling in the true gaps in the calendar, then sound upgrades could be
the next thing to tackle.

"Things Fall Apart" is actually my favorite Christmas record, disturbing as
that may sound. Well, after The Fall's "Hark The Herald Angels Sing"
perhaps.

Going forward, I think I have mentioned here that in the 90's I had a friend
in London who would record Peel shows for me, and send the cassettes back to
me in Atlanta... this was from maybe 91-99. She worked at the CNN office off
Tottenham Ct Rd and was in charge of recording feeds anyway - exactly the
dependable sort of person you'd want. (All the cassettes begin exactly 90
seconds before the show starts etc.) Anyway I dont know how many there are,
at least 100, maybe 200. And then I've another 30-50 half hr shortwave
shows. So looking down the road, when you (or ya'll as we say round here)
get through the 400 box, you are welcome to the "Tom Roche Box," so to
speak. I don't have time to rip them, so I'd be happy to Fed-Ex them over to
Phil or Martin and let them distribute the task.

Oh and these are mostly 100 min cassettes and not 90's, a bonus.

Amazing to think that someday one can carry around 3 decades of John's shows
on a little pocket drive....

OT: The film I spent the last 5 months editing in New Orleans, "The Big
Uneasy" will show at The Big Chill Festival sometime next weekend, with
Harry Shearer there to introduce it. It will show in London in September
sometime, will advise. Google "The Big Uneasy" for more....
