Hugh Hopper, former bassist of Soft Machine has sadly died from leukemia.

Although my musical tastes were well and truly founded circa 1968/9, I tend
not to dwell too much on the past.
However the 3 bands/artists from that era I still listen to on a regular
basis are Can, Beefheart and Soft Machine. All 3 great innovators.
A sad day for me.
