I remember that week well. It was the week of Peel substitutes.
i.e. Whilst Peel was on holiday in Peru.
There were 2 shows from Karl Hyde and Rick Smith of Underworld, 1 from
Siouxsie and 1 from the Cure's Robert Smith.
I must confess, that I wasn't all that struck on the Siouxsie or Robert
Smith's shows. Too much of the "usual suspects" for my liking.
Loved the Underworld's shows though and rememember thinking that if Peel
hadn't already heard their playing of Mr and Mrs Christmas's Dinner at
Rod's, he'd be tickled pink on his return.
