Just listened to this one on iPlayer.

What came over is that it is impossible to sum up the irreplaceable Viv in 
25 minutes - Neil and Ki were both obviously still in awe of the great man 
and his genius, and missing him. There just wasn't time to include enough of 
Viv's work to involve the casual listener, who probably has never heard of 
him.

At one point show host Matthew Parris admitted that he just "didn't get" 
Viv, and didn't even find him funny. Hardly surprising when you realize that 
when Viv was recording his classic Rawlinson's End sessions for Peel, Parris 
was a Tory MP in the newly elected Thatcher government.

Funny how many of these bastards end up presenting shows on radio 4!
