Compliments of the Season

I just wanted to wish everyone on this group a very merry Christmas 
and a happy and prosperous New Year.

2008 has been a great year for this group, in particular due to the 
acquisition of the tapes on eBay. Just consider. A group of 
individuals, most of whom had never met each other, pooled their 
resources and – entirely on trust – deposited their own money in an 
account so that these recordings could be saved for posterity. Since 
when some have gone to the trouble and expense of collating, 
digitising and sharing the shows for no personal reward except for 
the sincere gratitude of the rest of us.

This process has been one of the best things about 2008 and, at a 
time of easy cynicism, does much to restore one's faith in human 
nature.

(For my part, I'm still working on a Tim Burton-style "re-imagining" 
of the 29 August 1977 Punk Special which I hope will be ready early 
in the New Year).
