A two hour show in stereo wav format is 1,200mb

A two hour show in mono is 600MB

the same mono two hour show in flac is 300MB.

But when you mp3 this you end up at twice the size you should because 
you cannot have a mono mp3

Really? You can't have a mono mp3?

Well I can't do it, can anyone else?

So a two hour show at 192kbs is 160MB which is about twice the size 
it should be.

For these mono mp3 files would we be prepared to use another format 
like Wma, to halve the file size?

What do you mac owners use that is not proprietary?
