The site of Mothers now the top floor of two very nondescript shops. And
if you know Erdington, you'll know it's hardly a rock 'n roll Mecca
these days. In fact, the High Street is only "the place to be" if you
happen to be a fan of pound shops and Cash Converters. So it was the
ideal location for that TV series 'Skint'.
Right opposite the old Mothers is The Roebuck, where Jasper Carrott
recorded one of his live albums. The Roebuck's clientle these days
comprises unshaven hardcore dunks with several teeth missing. (Insert
obligatory "and the men aren't much better" punchline here.)
Erdington, there.
