The website took most of the sessions down as some f£@%er put them on a cd and tried selling it on ebay. Guess it maybe a bit naive to think that people wouldn't do that, but I suppose some people were even more gulleable to bid for it! They do have some tracks up for down load still though. If things hot up, it will be weekly, and so on. Show 2 goes out pretty soon. Some of the bands featured in the first show have been gaining some encouraging label interest, so it would be lovely if you could send in more of your demos, or encourage bands you know to do likewise. The blog gets a tremendous amount of hits, and I'm sure this would be of great benefit for all concerned. The last podcast is available to download from here: http://www.johnpeeltapes2.blogspot.com Bands have been either emailing tracks and a biog to me; making their tracks downloadable from their Myspace pages or using one of these online file sending services: http://www.Rapidshare.de or http://www.megaupload.com or http://www.yousendit.com Could bands please include an email giving permission to use any tracks in the shows. Not sure if it's available in the UK yet, but it seems to be out in Germany and I got it on an import from the US (maybe a bit of a roundabout route), via a major online retailer. Arrived yesterday (Friday). Anyway, its great stuff. Brilliant for me personally to have "Tom Hark" in the original version by Elias and his Zig-Zag Flutes, as I remember my mum used to have it on an ancient 45, back in the day. Who needs the Piranhas? That's just one fo me, though, and it's full of treats. Right this second I'm listening to "(There Ought To Be) A Midnight Saving Time" by Bob Richardson & His Orchestra, which is a very jolly big band number. Too many great things to pick out really. Apparently, the track listing had already been finalised at the time of JP's death, so it's the kind of hugely mixed selection you'd expect. Packaging of the whole thing is really nice, too, with an illustrated interview with the Pig and her comments on the various tracks. This comes in both English and German in my copy. So, I'm a happy customer. Anyone else? From martin2@... Sat Apr 22 20:43:17 2006 From: martin2@...
