In the heady days of 1977 ,Mr P would justify his leap into allthings punk by stating that this music was 'real' rock as it was not self indulgent and overblown.Of course he would never consider the fact that Status Quo amongst others were always basic three chord wonders just like the Pistols etc. But then again that didnt win listeners did it?
