We don't know what he thought because as far as I remember he never played them
My suspicion is that he would have considered them pretentious and loathed them
For the record I know of a live Maida Vale session for Zane Lowe and also 
rather surprisingly an XFM session
- definitely nothing for Peel
To me they are 70s prog revived
