Hosted by Dermot O'Leary from London's Alexandra Palace, this year's UK

music legends honoured in recognition of their outstanding contribution to
contemporary music. With the legendary Bob Dylan being inducted this year,
Alanis Morissette is to perform a tribute to his remarkable career. Pink
Floyd, Aretha Franklin and The Who will also be inducted alongside The
Kinks, who will be paid tribute in a special performance by The Pretenders.
Inductees Joy Division/New Order will perform the classic, Love Will Tear Us
Apart, while homage to inductee Jimi Hendrix will be performed by an
all-star super group including Slash. The late John Peel will receive 2005's
Honorary Membership in acknowledgement of his exceptional contribution to
British music. Tonight sees the first TV performance of the special tribute
single Ever Fallen in Love by an array of artists including Buzzcocks, Peter
Hook, The Datsuns and El Presidente. Artists are selected for induction by
the UK Music Hall of Fame Steering Group: a panel comprising over 60
respected artists, music journalists, broadcasters and music industry
executives. Further details to be announced closer to transmission.
