It's all meaningless, isn't it!  Even in '77 no one could quite agree on what Punk meant.  Some kids in my class wouldn't listen to The Jam because they "weren't punk", some people complained to John Peel in '76 that The Damned "weren't punk", and so on.  And now, nearly 30 years on, I find myself telling teenagers that they don't know what Punk means.
 
The truth is ... no one ever did!
 
Punk means to you what it means to you.
 
It's taken me 20-odd years to realise that!  LOL
