On Stuff That Is Still Up On The Radio 1 Peel Site

In 2001 or so I wrote a story for an Atlanta music mag about
Melt-Banana (this is the same magazine I penned the story about
Peel's life, passing, and funeral - a story I also posted to this
list.)

Anyway this week I was looking over that M-B piece, now archived at
http://www.tvbarn.com/archives/012979.html and remembered that I had
posted a weblink to the RealAudio file of the 40 min M-B Peel session
from Oct 2001.... and guess what? The link still works, the full
great show is still there. It's one of those links you have to paste
into the player.

As for the article about John, I've been informed that the piece has
been picked up by an annual US music Anthology, De Capo Best Music
Writing, that has been published annually since '99 or so. The series
is listed here

and the book I'll be in, alongside perhaps 20 other authors, is here

All of these books, so far, are fascinating reads on a variety of
subjects, and FYI I see some of the ones from a few years back show
up on eBay for a dollar or two.

I don't consider myself much of a writer (I am a video editor by
trade) so I am surprised and flattered to join the ranks of Nick
Hornsby, Anthony DeCurtis, etc. I am to be paid the princely sum of
$150, which will purchase half an iPod.

It goes without saying I would much rather have not written the article at all.

Peel was present at Oswald's arraignment, not his shooting two days later.
