I've been taking a break. The Peel slot was always my 'slot' of
choice for late-night listening, even though the likes of Mark
Radcliffe and Jim Gellatly (on Beat 106) also found themselves in
that time, thanks to unenlightened programmers. Their shows were less
appealing tome than Peel's, but more so than at least one of the
new-Iook Radio One shows. Plus, I also have a brand new digital radio
courtesy of the missus at Xmas, so my choice is even greater. I will
probably give all 3 programmes a chance over the next wee while, but
I feel no 'loyalty' to Radio One, indeed I always swore that I would
finish with the station if they sacked Peel (which they'd seemed to
be on the brink of many times over the years).
