..went to see Juicy Lucy the other friday in Hove
not with the legendary slide gtr of Glenn Campbell of
Misunderstood fame though
but same logo and electric blues to ease the gizzards
which got me googling to the Weeley festival site of
1971
which i attended ..that's another story of course..
 but the question is did John Peel perform stage
announcement duties? 
'Will Sandra meet Roger at the Release Tent; he's got
your insulin!' That kind of thing.
pretty sure he did at the Bath Jazz and Blues Festival
the previous year and at Bickershaw in 72
 big buddies at that time the Faces, Marc Bolan and
Dandelion signings Tir Na Nog and Principal Edwards
Magic Theatre were there so how could he not be there.
  Somewhere JP is quoted as saying ' He had had enough
of the 70's to last him several lifetimes ' and i
don't think he got that far in his memoirs, which i
think is kind of a shame for many reasons. Don't know
if any of you stretch back that far; it has taken on a
certain fictional quality but my memory insists on
