But surely Peel championed MES precisely because of who he was -  
unpredictable, blunt, curmudgeonly, honest.... whihc makes MES's 'anti-tribute'  about as 
appropriate as you could expect. For him to have been anything other  than 
that would have been insincere in extreme.
