Yeah, we could lose the truly live stuff.  I hope they don't edit 
them too much: I still fondly remember the Belle & Sebastian 
christmas party when the drum machine started up at the end 'The Boy 
With Arab Strap'. (Come to think of it, was that pre-recorded?)

I know what you mean about it being a 'classic' timeslot, although 
I've always thought of it as that, since it was the type of thing 
Radio 1 would do to a 'marginal' specialist programme back then.  I 
really enjoyed it when he was on Saturday afternoons, especially on 
a sunny day.  I may have to start that again in July.
