Keep it Peel at Maida Vale

I went to a few of the live sets at Maida Vale. Security consists of
checking at the door (by Hermeet or one of the crew) who is on their
list - there was certainly no touching and nothing intimidating about
it. I took a camera each time and so did plenty of others; the
DJs/bands didn't object and Peel himself ensured he got some good
positions to take some pics. There was obviously an official BBC
photographer taking pics to load stuff onto the web but no-one seemed
to mind that the rest of us were snapping away.

All I'd say now is that there's no knowing whether the absence of
Peel's benign influence may have changed things - perhaps take your
camera phone and wait and see if anyone else starts taking pics, then
if no alarms go off, go for it. I'd be astonished if that ever
extended to frisking though, or confiscating your phone. Have a great
evening.

>Has anyone on list been to any of the sessions at Maida Vale?
>Somehow, by sheer fluke, I've got an invite to the Keep it Peel gig
and in
>invite it says "Security have asked us to remind you that cameras are
not
>allowed inside the venue".
>Is this a strict rule and are camera phones allowed, or do they frisk
you
>for them?
>Also, only just discovered, it's being shown on BBC4 live.
