oh dear... wonder who's standing in? If it was someone decent playing 
the same music (Peel should leave him instructions!) then it might be 
bearable.
I always worry of he goes off for that long then they might get some 
Nimone-type production-line dj to stand in and it'll all be r'n'b by 
the time he returns (and I'm not talking Dr Feelgood here).

I heard some of last night's show wit the 'Lovers' (?) Who were they 
then? I'd guess members of Melys. Must say they sounded pretty ropey 
- there was a brave attempt to emulate Brian May's guitar sound but 
the drums sounded like they'd decided to just use stuff they found 
lying round Peel Acres for percussion.
Clinic sounded good though, reminded me very much of Wire - the way 
the songs stopped sounded exactly like a live bootleg I have from 
1980-something. Liked how John got them to do a few more songs, 
forcing them to play the early stuff they'd left out like 'Monkey' 
and 'Cement Mixer'.
