Yep.. I must say that 'Geek Love' was one of the first 'proper' indie
singles I ever bought and it is true, that it is only on Peel where
you can hear stuff like that, that isn't commercial.. the shame about
Bang Bang Machine was that they went downhill after that... though
they had another good track 'Breathless' a couple of years later but
in general they just seemed to lose the plot which was a shame...
In general.. this year's F50 was at it it's weirdest at the top...
surely the only reason for that particular Saloon track being no. one
is the title.. I think that might sway people.... Two tracks that I
hadn't heard before were the Mass track which I heard for the first
time and thought it had so much energy... in fact it is soooo good
that there are a lot of female singers / band members represented..
the other track [and I don't like a lot of dance music] is the Marc
Smith vs Safe 'n' sound which I also thought was fantastic and was
really suprised to find it was him from the Fall... it is him isn't
it? I hope I haven't made a fool of myself..
Anyway... whatever.. as usual Mr. Peel rules... and I know I shall be
finding lots of interesting new music from him in 2003 [still can't
stand home truths though]
