Complete opposite of Peel's current position.

He didn't go for the Stooges either, did he?

After reading the Peel interview in Artrocker a couple of months back 
I looked up the British trad jazz players that he used to listen to. 
They must have played a big part in developing his taste. Maybe in 
the way that he goes for music which simplifies itself rather than 
being clever. I noted that the Wire magazine made fun of Peel for 
liking the White Stripes which it saw as merely going over old 
ground. Whereas he said on Radio 4 that he saw them as a modern blues 
band as if it was more important to go back to the basics.
