My prediction was wrong but it was great to hear This Mortal
Coil at number 10.And I was surprised Nirvana only got to 8.
But I got New Order right at no.6. So I think the top 5 will be
Anarchy,Atmosphere,God Save the Queen,Teenage Kicks and Love will
Tear... Dull really. Only one Clash record, that's a surprise and
2 Beach Boys to one Beatles? I don't get that.
I think we'll have to petition Peel to hear that Elton session again
though. I don't remember Elton as a DJ although it's usually the case
that their musical taste is the complete opposite from the music they
make. It wouldn't surprise me if a member of Steps is a closet
Throbbing Gristle fan. However I do remember that Keith Moon DJ'd a few
times on the Peel show and was quite amusing.I would like to hear some of
those shows again. Does anyone remember Queen doing a Peel session around
1977? Candy Skin, maybe you do. I seem to remember they did an alternate
version of We Will Rock You but can't remember any of the other tracks.
The thing is, I'm not completely sure it was a Peel session.
Oh, and for viewers in England, Aberdeen got a comfortable draw against Motherwell.
