hello people,
i'm new to the joys of the net but so far stumbling over your newsgroup has been
one of the highlights of many hours of frustrated surfing. i found it through
tony wick's peel show f50 site when i was tyring to sus out who was responsible
for the little gem at no 14 in the '97 f50 - i was turning the tape at the time
when the man himself announced the artist.
anyway there IS a reason for taking up your time with my slavver. my mate at
work is 'hazel from comatose' dad and when he told hazel about your newsgroup
she asked if i'd post a message on it for her, so here goes.
hazel says:
"hi i'm hazel from comatose (the girl who didn't know who john peel was!!!).
this message is for anyone who heard our peel sesion of last year or saw us on
'sounds of the suburbs' and liked what they heard/saw. i've just found out about
this site, so sorry it's a bit late coming, but this is what we're doing now.
we are playing the following dates:
newcastle, bar oz - thurs 10th feb 2000
london, upstairs at the garage, highbury corner - sat 12th feb (money
off flyers available at the door)
london, the half moon, putney - wed 23rd feb
newcastle, egypt cottage - thurs 13th april
since peel's 'sounds of the suburbs' telly show and session we have grown
into a fine young band. we have been writing a whole load of brilliant new
songs as well as perfecting the old ones. but you don't need me to tell
you how good we are - come and see for yourselves! i guarentee you will
NOT be disappointed."
having seen them a few times up here in newcastle i can say she's right, you
won't be disappointed. if anybody has any comments/questions i'll pass them
back to hazel - but be warned for a small lass she packs a mighty punch!
thanks very much for your time.
big al
