damn. missed it. that sounds fun!
i do remember hearing a similar thing perhaps 3 (ish) years ago with billy
bragg and a girl with an accordion. it was shambolic too, with BB saying
that he'd only learned the songs that afternoon... kept getting chords
wrong.. and quite clearly hadn't learned the words!
all of this augmented, no doubt, by some "christmas spirit" which JP kept
alluding to...

i was stuck in a bloody cold broken down car in east kilbride of all
places, with snow (or sleet?) blowing around all over the place, and it
suddenly felt all christmassy. but nice christmassy, not woolworths
contrived christmassy if you get what i mean....

ah. those were the days... etc.

erm... anyway... yes. (sorry for moment of indulgence there!) - wasn't it
NICE to hear billy bragg the other night with just his guitar? i never felt
it worked when he had a backing band (solo trumpet excluded).
+ great to hear "jeanne" and "A13 trunk road to the sea" again!! he hardly
ever plays these!!
